About AAMS

The Australian Association for Mission Studies (AAMS) is an Australian association for individuals and institutions who are interested in the study of Christian mission — including scholars, teachers, and reflective practitioners. Working together, we:

promote the theological, biblical, historical, practical and contextual study of mission, local and global
bring together, through networks, conferences and seminars, those engaged in mission studies
encourage state-based networks holding events in the main cities of Australia
encourage co-operation and sharing of research and experience among individuals and institutions engaged in mission

promote engagement with the cultures and people, with whom, with whom, and from among whom, Christians share and explore the gospel, with particular interest in Australian indigenous voices
publish the Australian Journal of Mission Studies (AJMS) and other occasional titles
organise national mission studies conferences
provide access to a range of services and resources through our website

AAMS is affiliated with the International Association for Mission Studies (IAMS). We are an incorporated association Victoria (Registration no. A0049279V) and is registered as a non-profit organisation, with Australian Business Number 20190752965.
